Debut full-length by this new project by Vulturius Von Tenebras, the man who should need no introduction. Absolutely decrepit and vile portuguese Raw Black Metal, in the kooky, evil ways of acts like Vetala, Nözaakr, Concílio and some of Irae's material of course. Although only now released, the music was recorded in 2016, entirely by Vulturius, with vocals being added in 2023 by him and guests.
Fitting perfectly with the Asylum Tenebris' roster, not only by the rotting and decadent sound, but also aesthetically and the themes leading with torturing insanity, Manicómio delivers a short but entrancing record of howling incantations from tortured and lost souls, aptly recorded near a cemetery, with the guitars delivering oblique atonal guitars carrying the madness with often Punk-ish or even Thrash-y grooves, aptly sloppy, disgusting drums that seemed to be played by human bones hitting on boxes, and the ever morbid insanity of portuguese vocals. - Rites of Pestilence
